How to use this desk break
Set a 10-minute timer. Move gently, keep your range comfortable, and stand near your desk for support. Perform each move for 45 seconds with 15 seconds to transition.
Minute 0–2: breathing and posture
- Stand tall and take five slow breaths.
- Roll shoulders back and down.
- Reach overhead without arching your back.
Minute 2–5: neck, shoulders, and wrists
- Chin tucks — 8 slow reps
- Neck turns — 4 per side
- Wall angels — 8 reps
- Wrist circles and finger opens — 30 seconds
Minute 5–8: hips and legs
- Chair-supported hip hinges — 10 reps
- Alternating knee lifts — 45 seconds
- Standing quad stretch — 20 seconds per side
- Calf raises — 12 reps
Minute 8–10: reset
Walk slowly around the room, then finish with a gentle chest stretch and three relaxed breaths.
No-floor options
Every move above can be done standing. If balance is limited, keep one hand on the desk and reduce the range. Stop for sharp pain, numbness, or dizziness.
